Download Celestial

Made for the newest Java Edition. Celestial updates itself and the game, so you always have the latest.

Celestial Client is in a closed beta

Only testers can download and play it for now. Create an account to join the list, or sign in if you already have one. Testers get an email when access is ready.

Celestial for Linux

Celestial isn't out for Linux yet. It's on the way.

How it works

  1. Start. Make the AppImage executable and open it, or install the .deb package.
  2. Sign in with Microsoft. Use the account that owns Minecraft. The launcher then downloads the game.
  3. Play. Celestial keeps itself and the game up to date in the background.

Prefer one folder? The portable version keeps everything in one folder: unzip it anywhere, even on a USB stick, and delete the folder to remove it.

System requirements

Every computer

  • Account: a Minecraft: Java Edition account. You don’t need the official Minecraft launcher: the Celestial launcher downloads the game files itself.
  • Processor: 64-bit x86 (x86_64) with AVX2 (Intel 4th generation “Haswell”, AMD Ryzen or newer)
  • Graphics: Vulkan 1.2 with an up-to-date driver: Intel 6th generation (HD Graphics 500 series) or newer, AMD Radeon GCN (HD 7000 series) or newer, or NVIDIA GeForce GTX 900 series or newer. Integrated graphics are supported.
  • Disk space: about 1.5 GB free, including the game files the launcher downloads

Windows

  • Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit

Linux

The download page offers the Linux launcher once a Linux release is out.

  • 64-bit (x86_64) desktop Linux with glibc 2.38 or newer: Ubuntu 24.04, Debian 13, Fedora 39, Linux Mint 22 or newer, or current Arch and openSUSE Tumbleweed
  • A Vulkan 1.2 driver: Mesa 23 or newer (AMD, Intel) or the NVIDIA driver 535 or newer, and the Vulkan loader (libvulkan1)
  • X11 or Wayland, with PipeWire, PulseAudio or ALSA for sound
  • OpenSSL 3
  • The launcher comes as an AppImage (any distribution) or a .deb package (Debian, Ubuntu, Mint)
  • Microsoft sign-in uses a code: you enter it at microsoft.com/link

macOS

Coming soon.
