About

Celestial Client is a Minecraft: Java Edition client written from scratch in C++ with a Vulkan renderer. It plays the newest Java Edition, works with your worlds, servers, resource packs and shader packs, and runs mods written in Lua, C or C++ in a sandbox.

Why it exists

Celestial Client is for people who want the game they know, running on an engine built for speed, with the extras they use every day in one place. Everything it adds is optional and off by default, and gameplay stays exactly as in vanilla Java Edition.

Mods are part of the plan from the start. They run in a sandbox, so a mod can only do what it declares, and players can see those permissions before they install it. The docs and courses teach the CLight API in Lua, C and C++.

Where it stands

Celestial Client is in a closed beta on Windows. Testers are added by hand while it is small; sign up on the download page to join the list. macOS and Linux versions are coming. What changed lately is in the changelog.
